Step 1:
Locate the small panel to the right of the accelerator pedal. Pop off the panel to expose the battery disconnect.
Please read the entire product guide before proceeding.
- Ensure all parts are present.
- If you are missing any of the components, need help with the installation or have a question, call our customer support at (909) 947-0015.
- Do not work on your vehicle while the engine is hot.
- Make sure the engine is turned off and the vehicle is in Park or the Parking Brake is set.
- T20 Torx Bit
-Body Panel Clip Romoval Tool
-Zip Ties
-Scissors
Locate the small panel to the right of the accelerator pedal. Pop off the panel to expose the battery disconnect.
Press down on the red button located on the top of the disconnect. While pressing down, pull the factory disconnect off the post.
Pull back the weatherstripping on the drivers side door.
Remove the intermediate panel. Use a pry tool to pop out the panel
Remove these two bolts on the sill plate and remove the plate
Tip: You are going to need a T20 Torx Bit Screw Driver.
-Unscrew the bolt above the hood latch.
Tip: You are going to need a T20 Torx bit.
Lift up the floor mat to reveal the torx bolt on the base of the panel.
Tip: You will need a T20 Torx bit for this as well.
Remove the following 3 panel clips.
Tip: We recommend using a body clip remover tool.
Location 1: The top of the panel, closest to the door.
Location 2: Right below the hood latch release.
Location: Towards the back left by the firewall.
Pull the panel towards the accelerator. The OBDII harness can stay plugged in.
Locate the blue wire harness on the left side along the fender wall. Press on the button on the back of the assembly, then flip the black latch in order to unlock the entire harness. See the step below for more info on the bottom to press and black latch.
Tip: Be careful removing the panel as to not damage your OBD2 port and hood latch release.
My pointer finger is on the button to depress and my middle finger is on the latch that will rotate clockwise to release the connector.
Take your new harness and install.
First, plug the old harness into the port marked (B).
Next, plug (A) into the factory port on the fender wall.
Once done, lock it in by closing the black latch until you hear a click. Then ensure that everything is locked into place.
Lastly, connect the remaining connector into the black module that comes with the kit. Once done, zip tie the module and wiring up and out of the way.
Place the large panel back into position. and tighten down the 2x T20 Torx bolts.
-1 located at the base of the panel near the floor. The 2nd one is located on the hood latch.
Once that is done, please proceed to install the 3x panel clips back into their holes.
Lastly, ensure the weather stripping is mounted flush to the pinch welds.
Re-install the floorboard molding and tighten down the 2x T20 Torx bolts.
Re-install the intermediate panel.
Next, attach the factory disconnect back onto the post.
Install the small panel back over the factory disconnect location.
The range indicator will default to a 47 gallon tank. But if you are using our 45 or 40 gallon tank, here's how to set it up.
45 Gallon Tank:
1. With the vehicle off and your foot off the brake, press the start button twice.
2. Next, pull the turn signal handle towards you, then press the unlock button on your key once.
Your range indicator will now change and will be set for a 45 gallon tank.
40 Gallon Tank:
1. With the vehicle off and your foot off the brake, press the start button twice.
2. Next, pull the turn signal handle towards you, then simultaneously press the unlock button on your key twice.
Your range indicator will now be set for a 40 gallon tank.
