Step 1
First start by removing the factory or aftermarket air intake kit.
Approximate Install Time: 1Hr. - 2hrs.
First start by removing the factory or aftermarket air intake kit.
Loosen the stock clamps (2) holding the Upper Cold Side Boot by using an 11mm deep socket.
Loosen the stock clamps (2) on the Lower Cold Side Boot using an 11mm deep socket.
Remove the Cold Side Intercooler Pipe from the engine bay and remove the OEM boots if you were unable to get them off in the previous step.
Mount the S&B Cold Side Intercooler Boot onto the cold side outlet of the intercooler.
Re-install the Cold Side Intercooler Pipe onto the lower S&B Cold Side Boot.
Install the upper intercooler boot onto the Cold Side pipe and intake. Once done, using an 11mm deep socket to tighten all T-bolt clamps on both upper and lower boots. There are (4) total T-bolt clamps.
*Make sure that each clamp is fully seated after the bead on the pipes in order to ensure the clamps fully retain the connection.
Move to the Hot Side Intercooler Pipe (Driver Side). Start by removing the stock upper hot side intercooler boot using an 11mm deep socket to remove the two stock clamps.
Then remove the entire factory upper boot from the hot side intercooler pipe.
Install the S&B Upper Hot Side Boot onto the hot side intercooler pipe. Then loosely install the S&B T-bolt clamps using an 11mm deep socket, onto the S&B upper hot side boot.
*Don't fully tighten the clamps just yet. This will allow for enough play for when it comes time to install the lower S&B hot side boot.
Loosen the stock clamps on the lower hot side intercooler boot using an 11mm deep socket. Once both clamps have been uninstalled, you can now remove the stock lower hot side intercooler pipe boot.
Install the S&B lower intercooler pipe boot onto the intercooler and hot side pipe. Then install the S&B T-bolt clamps using an 11mm deep socket.
Tighten down all S&B T-bolt clamps (8). Then torque down all T-bolt clamps to 75 in. lbs..
Verify that all connection points are tight and secure.
Then reinstall the air intake and once again verify that every connection point was tight and secure.
Your installation is now secure.
