Install Instructions for 75-5225

Before You Start

Kit may not fit with the following Aftermarket Parts installed:

Body Lift or Lowering Kit

Custom Hood

*This kit will not fit with the following Aftermarket Parts:

Non-Whipple Supercharger and/or Throttle Body Spacer

  • Please read the entire product guide before proceeding.
  • Ensure all parts are present.
  • If you are missing any of the components, call our customer support at (909) 947-0015.
  • Do not work on your vehicle while the engine is hot.
  • Make sure the engine is turned off and the vehicle is in Park or the Parking Brake is set.

Required Tools

- 5/16th Nut Driver

-10mm Socket & Ratchet Wrench

- Body Panel Removal Tool

Step 1

Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

Step 2

Loosen the hose clamps on the throttle body side of the intake tube.

Tool required: 5/16th nut driver

Step 3

Loosen the hose clamps on the air box side of the intake tube.

Tool required: 5/16th nut driver

Step 4

Unclip the PCV hose from the side of the intake tube. Push the blue clip downward, and then pull the quick connect outward.

Step 5

Unplug the fitting located on the bottom of the intake tube.

Make sure you remove the grommet too, as you will need this in a future step.

Step 6

Remove the push pins from the Whipple intakes front air scoop.

Tools required: Body Panel Removal tool

Step 7

Remove the Whipple Air Intake from the engine bay.

Step 8

Ensure that there are 2 grommets are still in their position as you will need them in a future step.

Step 9

Loosen the bolt holding the bracket of the coolant overflow tank.

Tools required: 10mm socket/wrench

Step 10

Next, remove the 2 bolts on the coolant reservoir tank where the bracket connects to the tank.

Step 11

Install the supplied S&B J-bracket into the same spot as Step 9. 

Tools required: 10mm socket/wrench

Step 12

Now, mount the coolant reservoir tank using the factory 2 bolts.

Tools needed: 10mm socket/wrench

Step 13

Now it's time to install the S&B air box front scoop. Take the provided (8) S&B push pins and you'll need 2 per hole. 

Step 14

Install the grommet and grommet plate onto the side of the S&B Air Box.

Step 15

Mount the oval flange onto the air box. Then take the largest hose clamp in the kit and place it around the flange, then tighten down the hose clamp.

Tools needed: 5/16th nut drive

Step 16

Thread in the S&B PCV fitting into the port on the side of the intake tube. 

Please note: Make sure to not over-tighten this fitting. We recommend leaving it hand tight with about 3 threads showing.

Step 17

Install the grommet from Step 5 into the sound hose port located on the bottom of the S&B Intake Tube.

Step 17 (Optional)

If you're not running an aftermarket sound tube, go ahead and close off the port with the provided plug.

Step 18

If you have a Stage 2 Whipple, install the straight coupler (AI1523-01)

Step 18B

If you have a Stage 1 Whipple or F-150 FP700 package install the Step down coupler (AI2851C-00)

Step 19

Now take the S&B intake tube and insert it into the S&B air box.

Step 20

Next, please install the S&B air filter into the air box.

Step 21

Install the S&B air box assembly into the vehicle's engine bay.

Step 22

Thread the provided bolt through the side of the S&B air box and into the factory mounting location, forward of the hood strut.

Step 23

Install the intake tube onto the throttle body.

Prior to install, we recommend installing and tightening a provided hose clamp around the air box side of the throttle body flange as seen on the right. 

Step 24

Install and tighten another hose clamp onto the throttle body flange as seen to the right.

Step 25

Install the sound tube fitting located at the bottom of the intake tube. Ensure that the fitting doesn't go too far into the tube. Make sure that once installed, you can feel the ring around the fitting. 

Step 26

Install the PCV quick connect onto the fitting located on the side of the S&B intake tube. Make sure you hear a "click", as this will tell you it's fully seated.

Step 27

Use the OEM push pins to install the front air scoop.

Step 28

Remove the protective film off the clear lid, then install it into the lid seal. Once done, go ahead and install it onto the air box.

Step 29

Re-attach the negative terminal onto the battery post.

Step 30

Check and verify all connection points and verify that they are tight and secure. Your installation is now complete.
