Step 1:

With the ignition switched off and the parking brake set, disconnect the negative battery terminal on the battery using a 10mm socket and ratchet wrench.

IMPORTANT: Failure to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 2 hours may cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate upon completion of the installation or subsequent operation. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

Step 2:

Remove the 8mm bolt holding the air box to the fender side of the engine bay.

Step 3:

Unscrew the bolt at the front of the air box with a Flathead screw driver.

Tip: You can also use a T27 Torx screw driver.

Step 4:

Loosen the forward hose clamp from the stock intake tube coming from the air box.

You will need a 5/16th nut driver to do this.

Step 5:

Loosen the rear hose clamp from the stock intake tube coming from the air box.

You will need a 5/16th nut driver to do this.

Step 6a:

Time to remove the 3 plastic pins holding the wire harness that runs parallel with the air box. The 1st is located near the rear secondary intake tube coming from the air box.

Tip: We recommend using a body panel removal tool for all these clips.

Step 6b:

The 2nd clip is located right next to the 1st clip.

Step 6c:

The 3rd clip is located just next to the hose clamp for the forward intake tube. (Red Arrow)

While there, go ahead and disconnect the IAT (Intake Air Temp) Sensor harness. (Green Arrows)

Step 7:

Next, go ahead and remove the forward and rear intake tube from the air box tube.

Step 8a:

Go ahead and uninstall the stock air box by lifting it up and out of the engine bay.

Step 8b:

One or both of the stock air box grommets may still be attached to the air box.

If so, go ahead and remove them from the stock air box, then reinstall into these two mounting locations in preparation for the S&B Air Box install.

Step 9:

Remove the IAT (Intake Air Temp) Sensor from the stock intake tube.

Step 10:

Install the included IAT sensor adapter grommet (10) into the S&B Intake tube.

Step 11:

Install the IAT Sensor into the S&B Intake tube.

Tip: Ensure the sensor tab goes past the lip on the IAT sensor adapter grommet (10) to hold the sensor in place.

Step 12:

Install the S&B Air Filter (3) into the S&B Air Box (1). We recommend inverting the air filter in order to easily install it.

Step 13:

Install the circular box seal (9) on the S&B air box.

Step 14:

Install hose clamp #84 (4) onto the air filter.

Note: Don't fully tighten the hose clamp just yet.

Step 15:

Install the silicone scoop (8) on the S&B air box.

Step 16:

Install the S&B intake tube (2) into the air box.

Step 17:

With the new intake tube installed, go ahead and snug up the hose clamp around the filter.

Step 18: Optional

Install the air box fender seal (5).

Step 19a:

Install the S&B Air Box into the engine bay.

Tip: Use caution when installing the air box since you will have to maneuver it under the windshield washer fluid fill-up.

Step 19b:

When installing the air box, we recommend running one of the main wiring harness over the S&B intake tube.

Step 20a:

Install the two factory intake tubes onto the S&B air box intake tubes and tighten the two hose clamps.

Step 20a: Cont.

Step 21a:

Install one end of the IAT Sensor Extension to the intake tube (2).

Step 22b:

Connect the other end of the IAT wire harness to the main harness located towards the front right of the engine bay, next to the forward intake tube. Then zip tie it securely up and out of the way.

Step 23:

Use a T27 Torx screw driver to secure the S&B Air Box to the core support.

Tip: You will use the stock air box mounting location.

Step 24:

Peel off the protective film from the clear lid (7)

Step 25:

Install the Clear Lid (7) into the Snap Lid (6).

Step 26:

Install the Snap-In lid (6) to your S&B Air box.
