Install Instructions for 75-5199

Before You Start

  • Please read the entire product guide before proceeding.
  • Ensure all parts are present.
  • If you are missing any of the components, call our customer support at (909) 947-0015.
  • Do not work on your vehicle while the engine is hot.
  • Make sure the engine is turned off and the vehicle is in Park or the Parking Brake is set.
  • Note: This intake kit may not fit with the following Aftermarket Parts installed: Trucks with Remote Start option, Body Lift or Lowering Kit, Custom Hood, Throttle Body Spacer / Upgrade

Required Tools

  • 6mm Socket
  • 10mm Socket
  • 6mm Ratchet Wrench
  • Ratchet 
  • 5/16” Nut Driver or Flat Blade Screwdriver
  • Phillips Screwdriver

STEP 1:

With the ignition switched off and the parking brake set, disconnect the negative battery cable.

IMPORTANT: Failure to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 2 hours may cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate upon completion of the installation or subsequent operation. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

STEP 2:

Using a 10mm Socket/Ratchet, go ahead and remove the bolt to the left of the stock air box on the passenger side.

STEP 3:

Now, with a 10mm Socket/Ratchet, remove the (2) bolts holding the stock intake tube down to the radiator shroud.

STEP 4:

Loosen the hose clamp at the stock intake box with a 5/16 Nut Driver or Flat Blade Screwdriver.


STEP 5:

Remove the stock intake box by lifting up to unseat the two prongs from the air box tray underneath.


STEP 6:

Remove the (2) Rubber Grommets from the bottom side of the stock air box.


STEP 7:

Next to the battery, will be 2 bolts. Go ahead and remove the left bolt using a 10mm Socket/Ratchet.


STEP 8:

Install the provided L-bracket onto the S&B Air Box using a 6mm Socket or 6mm Ratchet Wrench.

STEP 9:

Install the Fender Seal onto the Intake Box.


Step 10:

Install the provided Intake Tube Ring Seal onto the S&B Air Box.

Step 11:

Install the assembled S&B Air Box into the stock air box location.

Step 12:

Mount the S&B Air Box L-bracket to the battery divider using the OEM bolt. You will need a 6mm Ratchet Wrench to do so.

Step 13:

Install the included relocation plate using the OEM Phillips Head screw.

Step 14:

Install the S&B Intake Tube. Then tighten the hose clamp around the intake tube using a 5/16th Nut Driver or Flat Head Screwdriver.

*Ensure that the numbers on the intake tube (air box side) are facing down, in order to achieve the correct intake tube orientation.

Step 15:

Install the Air Filter into the S&B Air Box. Make sure to position the hose clamp around the Air Filter flange is in a good spot to tighten down.

Step 16:

Tighten down the Air Filter hose clamp using a 5/16th Nut Driver or a Flat Head Screwdriver.

Step 17:

Tighten down the (2) 10mm bolts holding down the OEM Intake Tube to the radiator shroud.

*For the passenger side bolt, we include a 10mm nut to use for this step.

STEP 18:

Install the lid seal into the groove of the S&B Air Box.

STEP 19:

Remove the protective covering from the Clear Lid.


STEP 20:

Install the Air Box Lid by tightening down the (4) included Screws and Washers.

STEP 21:

Reconnect the negative battery cable. Ensure that all connection points are tightened down and secure.

Your installation is now complete.
