STEP 1
Using a 7mm socket, loosen the two hose clamps from the OEM Filler Tube and Main Vent Line. This will be located towards the rear of the vehicle, behind the Fuel Door, above the frame.
Before You Begin: Drive your truck until there is less than a 1/4 tank in order to make the install as easy as possible.
Using a 7mm socket, loosen the two hose clamps from the OEM Filler Tube and Main Vent Line. This will be located towards the rear of the vehicle, behind the Fuel Door, above the frame.
Jack up the OE Fuel Tank in order to remove the stock Mounting Straps.
We recommend using a Transmission Jack to do this, but you can also use Ratchet Straps or Floor Jack.
Using a 16mm Deep Socket with various Extensions, go ahead and unbolt the two Mounting Straps. Then unhook it from the Cradles.
Disconnect the Filler and Vent tube from the fuel Tank.
Cut the Zip Tie and remove the Rollover Valve as you drop the old fuel tank. You will not need the rollover valve anymore.
Disconnect the Electrical Connector and two Fuel Lines from the stock Sending Unit.
Remove the stock Vent Hose from the Stock Vent Line.
Replace the OEM Vent Hose with the provided S&B Vent Hose and tighten down the provided hose clamp using a 7mm Socket.
Prepare to transfer the OE Sending Unit to the S&B Fuel Tank by removing the OEM Locking Ring. We recommend using a Dead-blow and a small pry-bar.
Place the provided S&B O-Ring onto the S&B Fuel Tank.
Place the OEM Sending Unit into the S&B Fuel Tank and orientate it in the correct position (as seen in image).
Install the provided S&B Locking Ring on the Sending unit, then push it down and twist it Clockwise to lock it into place using a dead blow and small pry-bar or a Locking Ring Tool.
Install the S&B Fuel Tank in the stock location. Once installed, place a Jack or Ratchet Straps to hold it up.
*Ensure you don't place the jack under the Sending Unit as this may cause damage to the Sending Unit.
Take your OE Filler Neck and attach it to the S&B Fuel Tank. Then tighten down the Hose Clamp using a 7mm Socket.
Reconnect the two Fuel Lines and the Electrical Connector to the OE Sending Unit.
Now it's time to cut and connect the main Vent Line. Make sure to measure the length of the hose to the fitting, then use a Hose Cutter.
Once that's done, go ahead and attach the hose to the fitting and then tighten the hose clamp using a 7mm socket.
*It's important that you don't have any slack in the vent hose.
Now it's time to mount the two S&B Mounting Straps. Start by mounting up the cradle side first, then bring the other side up to get it halfway bolted in. Copy this process for the rear strap.
Then tighten both straps down all the way.
*To get the Mounting Strap around the driveshaft, we recommend bending it in order to thread it through.
Verify that all connection points are secure and tight. Your installation is now complete.
